These terms apply to mobile car-detailing services supplied by AusCar Detailing in New South Wales. By accepting a quote or confirming a booking, you agree to these terms. Nothing in these terms excludes, restricts or modifies rights that cannot lawfully be excluded, including rights under the Australian Consumer Law.
Quotes and bookings
Website prices and spreadsheet-generated ranges are guides only. Quotes are based on the vehicle size, condition, photographs, location, access, requested service and other information supplied by the customer. A quote request does not create a booking. A booking is confirmed only when AusCar Detailing confirms the date, time, service scope and price.
If the vehicle or work required materially differs from the information supplied, we will explain the difference and obtain approval for any revised price or service before carrying out additional work. You may decline the additional work.
Deposits and payment
Any required deposit, accepted payment method and payment deadline will be disclosed before the booking is confirmed. Unless otherwise agreed, the remaining balance is payable when the service is completed. A deposit will be applied to the final invoice.
We will not impose an undisclosed surcharge. Any card or third-party payment fee will be disclosed before payment and will not exceed the amount permitted by law.
Cancellations, rescheduling and no access
Please give at least 24 hours' notice to cancel or reschedule. When more than 24 hours' notice is provided, any deposit will be refunded or transferred to a new appointment unless non-recoverable costs were clearly agreed in advance.
For cancellations with less than 24 hours' notice, failure to attend, or failure to provide agreed access, we may retain or charge only the reasonable amount necessary to cover losses actually caused by the cancellation, up to the deposit amount. We will consider emergencies and circumstances outside the customer's reasonable control. This clause does not limit any remedy available under the Australian Consumer Law.
Weather and delays
Mobile detailing depends on safe weather and working conditions. We may pause, reschedule or cancel a service because of rain, extreme heat, storms, unsafe conditions, equipment failure or other events outside our reasonable control. If we reschedule for these reasons, no customer cancellation charge applies and any deposit may be transferred or refunded.
Arrival times are estimates because travel and earlier jobs can vary. We will make reasonable efforts to notify you of a significant delay.
Customer responsibilities and site access
You must provide accurate information about the vehicle, its condition and the work requested. Before arrival, remove valuables, cash, child seats where practical and personal belongings from areas to be cleaned. AusCar Detailing is not responsible for unsecured items left in the vehicle unless loss or damage is caused by our failure to exercise due care and skill.
You must provide lawful, safe and reasonably level access to the vehicle with enough working space. Where agreed during quoting, you must also provide access to suitable water and electricity. Tell us before booking about street or shared parking, building restrictions, paid parking, restricted access, hazards, pets or other circumstances that may affect the service.
Vehicle condition
You must identify known damage, loose or fragile parts, aftermarket accessories, electrical faults, leaks, poor repairs, peeling paint or clear coat, cracked trim, window tint issues and any other defect that could affect the service. We may inspect and photograph the vehicle before work begins to document its condition.
We will exercise due care and skill. However, ordinary cleaning may expose pre-existing damage, deterioration, stains, repairs or defects that were hidden by dirt or belongings. Nothing in this clause excludes liability where damage is caused by our failure to exercise due care and skill.
Heavy contamination and hazardous conditions
Excessive pet hair, sand, mud, staining, odours, mould, bodily fluids, pests, sharp objects or other hazardous contamination may require extra time, specialist treatment, a revised quote or refusal of service. We will not begin additional chargeable work without approval. We may stop work where conditions present an unreasonable health or safety risk.
Service limitations and results
Detailing improves a vehicle's appearance but cannot guarantee complete removal of every stain, odour, scratch, water spot, swirl, contaminant or defect. Results depend on the material, age, prior treatment and severity of damage. Paint correction, scratch removal, mould treatment and other specialist work are included only when expressly stated in the confirmed quote.
Changes and additional work
We will obtain your approval before performing work outside the confirmed scope or increasing the confirmed price. Approval may be recorded by email, text message or another agreed communication method.
Inspection and concerns
Where reasonably possible, inspect the completed service with us. If you notice a concern, tell us promptly and provide reasonable details and photographs so we can assess it. We may request an opportunity to inspect and, where appropriate, remedy the issue within a reasonable time. This process does not remove or reduce your rights under the Australian Consumer Law.
Consumer guarantees
Our services come with guarantees that cannot be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law. Services must be provided with due care and skill, be fit for any purpose you make known to us and be supplied within a reasonable time when no time is agreed.
For a major failure, you may be entitled to cancel the service contract and receive a refund for the unused portion or compensation for its reduced value. You may also be entitled to compensation for other reasonably foreseeable loss or damage. For a failure that is not major, we are entitled to a reasonable opportunity to remedy the problem.
Liability
To the extent permitted by law, neither party is responsible for indirect or consequential loss that was not reasonably foreseeable. AusCar Detailing does not accept responsibility for delay, loss or damage caused by inaccurate customer information, unsafe access, undisclosed defects, pre-existing damage or events outside our reasonable control. These limitations do not apply where liability cannot lawfully be excluded or limited.
Photographs and marketing
We may take photographs to document vehicle condition, work performed or a customer concern. We will obtain separate permission before using identifiable vehicle images, registration plates, locations or customer information for advertising or social media. Marketing permission is optional and may be withdrawn for future use.
Privacy
We handle personal information in accordance with our Privacy Policy.
Changes to these terms
The terms that apply to your booking are those provided or available when the booking is confirmed. We may update these website terms for future bookings, but changes will not retrospectively alter an existing confirmed booking unless agreed or required by law.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of New South Wales, Australia. The parties submit to the courts and tribunals with jurisdiction in New South Wales, subject to any rights to bring a claim elsewhere under applicable consumer law.
